An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the alms procession. This trip features more than what it describes for 5 days in Luang Prabang.
Arrival in Luang Prabang, welcome by our driver and then get transfer to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day will be free time at leisure or taking the option of a two-hour traditional Laos massage. Accommodation is at hotel in Luang Prabang.

AM: After breakfast, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Royal palace now transformed into the National Museum (closed on Tuesday). Our stroll will also lead us at Wat Mai.
PM: We continue our excursion toward Khouangsi Waterfall, en route, we visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Laoloum Village and Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. The Khouangsi Waterfall setting really illustrates paradise. We return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and continue to Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for silk hand weaving and for traditional Saa Paper making.
We return to the city by late evening to observe the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath before heading to the Hive Bar for a drink and to have a look over an ethnic fashion show that displays 95 pieces of traditional clothes from hill tribes of Northern Laos. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Breakfast is at the hotel. Enjoy a cooking class in the morning with a visit to a local market and taste your own lunch. This activity will afford you to discover Laos cuisine and ingredients. In the afternoon half-day dyeing class: an introduction to all the dye sources. The class includes preparing 3 dye sources and dye silk yarns. Take home the results. Sunset drink and view the sunset from the beautiful Mekong River view at Ock Pop Tok. Then visit TAEC (Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center) where the exhibition will provide you more details on hill tribes in Laos and their customs. End your day with a stroll through the night market that takes place every day from 4 pm in some streets of the town. Option: sunset cruise dinner.
Breakfast is at the hotel. The morning will take you a little bit away from Luang Prabang to discover the elephant camp. Located in Ban Xieng Lom, at 15km from the town, this camp aims to protect and preserve the elephant while involving them in the tourism industry. It will afford you to enjoy the first discovery of this animal (symbol of Laos) through an elephant ride (around 60 minutes). In the afternoon, you will embark on a slow boat to cruise up the Mekong to Pak Ou Caves where hundreds of Buddha’s statues and images are crammed. Then return to the town. The boat arrives Luang Prabang before sunset. On arrival to Luang Prabang enjoy a visit to the beautiful Wat Xieng Thong and then transfer to Mount Phousy to enjoy an amazing panoramic view over the town. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Free at leisure till your transfer time to the airport for your flight home or onward to the next destination. End of services.
