Tour Plan

Day 01: LUANG PRABANG

Arrive in Luang Prabang and be welcome by our driver who will transfer you to the hotel. Strolling around the town on own or at leisure for the rest of the day. Overnight in Luang Prabang

Day 02: LUANG PRABANG & PAK OU CAVES

Optional: For early risers, there is a very special dawn visit to watch the monks collecting the alms. Return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, you will embark on a cruise up the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves. Locally referred to as Tam Ting, these two caves are carved out of towering limestone cliffs and contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. Lunch in a local restaurant.

This afternoon, you will visit the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, where you will explore the history of Laos. Continue on foot to Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief, and Wat Sensoukarahm. End this tour a Wat Xieng Thong, one of Laos’ most beautiful temples.

Continue to the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre, a museum dedicated to exploring the rich diversity of Laos’ ethnic minorities. Traditional costumes, tools, and artifacts are on display alongside in-depth descriptions and written histories (note: closed on Monday).

Optional: Evening performance at Royal Ballet Theatre (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 6 pm, close from June to September)

Overnight in Luang Prabang

Day 03: LUANG PRABANG & KUANG SI WATERFALL

This morning visit Wat Visoun – the holiest temple in town, and Wat Aham, Wat That, where King Sisavangvong’s ashes are kept.

Afternoon, you will be driven through Luang Prabang countryside to Kuang Si Waterfalls (32 km southwest of the city). Upon reaching Kuang Si Waterfall, relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Visit the bear sanctuary, which is next to the falls, run by Free The Bears Fund, Inc.

Back in town, climb up to the top of Mount Phousi and enjoy the sunset over the town.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 04: LUANG PRABANG DEPARTURE

Free for your own leisure until transfer to the airport for your next destination. End of services.
